LEVEL 3 Martial Arts Performance offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes for adults and kids in Moorpark. Our Kempo curriculum offers a complete set of self-defense skills utilizing time-proven martial arts principles such as positioning, distance management, and a variety of striking and non-striking techniques to help protect you when the need arises. Kempo combines traditional and modern training for a well-rounded skill set. Martial arts is for more than "fighting". It cultivates a champion attitude and mindset that helps improve your overall physical and mental performance.
Kempo translates as “law of the fist" and took root circa 1936 in Hawaii where it began to evolve into the comprehensive system we practice today. Kempo is a set of principles, not a style - it’s “always evolve” philosophy is what keeps it open to absorbing the most effective fighting concepts needed to meet modern-day self-defense demands.
Kempo’s movements and principles can be easily recognized in the fighting styles of many legendary Ultimate Fighting Championship title-holders like Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell, George “Rush” St. Pierre and Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida - all great athletes, champions, and martial artists alike. Steven “Wonderboy” Thompson is today’s most well-known and practical example of how Kempo translates to actual self-defense.
