What is "LEVEL 3"?

I’m often asked how the name LEVEL 3 Martial Arts Performance came to be and what it means.

Most commonly level 3 refers to the rank of Black Belt. In martial arts programs experience levels are often categorized as level 1 - beginner, level 2 - intermediate, and level 3 advanced. But you don’t have to have a Black Belt to BE a Black Belt. I know many people who don’t even train martial arts yet their discipline of mind, body, and spirit is exactly what we aim to instill in our students as they strive for that final level, Black Belt.

Level 3 mindset means thinking and behaving in such a way that you’re proud of who you are and what you accomplish without caring about the opinions of people or paid creative works that tells us who, what or where we should be. Fade the noise and live your purpose with a smile.

I’ve always had the mindset that no matter what task I take on or what role I play that I was doing it to the best of my ability - it’s how I was raised. It allows me to rest at night with a sense of fulfillment and wake up the next day ready to do it all over again. We are all trading our time for something so it better be something of personal value. For me I want to leave the world a bit better than before I entered it by helping change the life of even just one student for the better. We never get back time, it’s the most valuable commodity.

When I put on my LEVEL 3 shirt thats what I am reminded of and that helps me give my best to my students, my community, and of course my family every day.

That is LEVEL 3.

When teaching you give the most important thing in the world to your students - your time. So you better love doing it or you’ll resent and regret. Be fulfilled and love your world.
